Admissions at Discovery
The biggest lie mental health disorders tell you is that you’re alone. With Discovery Mood & Anxiety, you’re not on your own – we’ll be your guides and team members as you journey towards a happier life.
Fewer conditions are as stigmatized as mental health disorders, which makes people reluctant to seek help for them. It’s why we’ve carefully created treatment programs where safety, confidentiality, respect and compassion are key.
Mental health disorders often get much worse if untreated, slowly taking your life over and leaving you feeling like you’re no longer in control. However, these conditions are treatable, and you can reclaim the life you deserve today.
Admissions Guidelines: A Quick Look
- You're aged 18 or older. If younger, you have a parent or guardian who can call.
- You’re struggling with one or more of the following conditions: anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, self-harming behaviors and reactive attachment disorder
- You’re able to engage in a reasonable level of self-care, including being able to feed and groom yourself, and keep your living areas orderly if you’re in our residential program
- You’re ready and motivated to participate in mental health treatment
What is the Admissions Process Like?
Being admitted to Discovery Mood & Anxiety is quick and straightforward:
1. Insurance Verification
Once you provide your insurance details to our admissions team, we will contact your insurance company to confirm your coverage. We work with most major insurance providers.
2. Benefits Discussion
After your coverage is verified, we will call you to review your benefits in detail. At this stage, you’ll have a clear understanding of what your treatment costs will be under your insurance plan.
3. Clinical Assessment
You will meet with an admissions counselor for a clinical assessment, which typically lasts about one hour. This evaluation ensures you are placed at the appropriate level of care to best address your mental health needs.
4. Admission Paperwork
You’ll complete the required admission forms, which include information about your history and current usage. With your consent, your loved ones may also provide input through additional paperwork to share their perspective.
5. Counselor Meeting
After your paperwork is complete, you’ll sit down with the admissions counselor to review your medical and psychological history and discuss your concerns in greater depth. With your permission, the counselor may also meet with your family members. Using all the information gathered, the counselor will recommend the level of care that will be most effective for your treatment.
Reaching Out is the First Step
