Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How can I check if my insurance provider covers treatment?
Discovery Mood & Anxiety is pleased to be a preferred provider for most major insurance carriers. Check out our list of acceptable insurances. You can also contact your insurance provider or insurance customer support agent directly for further clarification on the costs covered for mental health treatment.

Even if your insurance company is not on our in-network list, or you don’t have insurance at all, it is still possible to get mental health treatment. Discovery Mood & Anxiety accepts all major credit cards, eChecks and cash, as well as HSA/FSA debit cards. We provide complimentary benefit verification and can also work to obtain a single case agreement if necessary. Please call us today at 1-714-828-0808 to discuss your options for obtaining necessary treatment.

Check your insurance provider’s website or call them directly to clarify what your in-network and out-of-network benefits are for your plan. Each plan has a different deductible and out-of-pocket amount. Some plans don’t offer out-of-network benefits, in which case you would pay out-of-pocket for treatment services that are not in your insurance plan’s network.
Depending on your insurance provider, you will see it clearly marked on the front or back of your insurance card whether you have a preferred provider organization (PPO), exclusive provider organization (EPO) or health maintenance organization (HMO). You will have different levels of co-pays, premiums, deductibles and in-network and out-of-pocket costs depending on which type of insurance coverage you have. Feel free to reach out to us today for more information.

The level of mental health disorder treatment coverage depends on your individual insurance plan specifications. Our team is happy to check which treatment services are covered and which (if any) might incur out-of-pocket costs. Simply fill out the brief insurance form and we will be in touch shortly.

There is no “right time” to get the treatment you need and deserve. But if you do have insurance coverage, using it before there are any changes to your current plan is ideal. For some, insurance plans can change before the beginning of a new year. Be sure to check when your current plan expires so you can utilize any benefits.

Yes, our online virtual programming is considered like our in-person programming, meaning that it can be covered by most major insurance companies. Online virtual treatment for those who need intensive outpatient (IOP) or partial hospitalization (PHP) care is an ideal way to get effective support from the comfort of home. Telehealth is currently available in the following states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Texas and Virginia.

At this time, we do not take Medicaid. Please contact us to know all your options for how to pay for mental health treatment.
