Angela Conner, LPC
Angela Conner, LPC brings over 13 years of combined education and clinical experience as the Program Director at Fairfax Station/Burke lake Resilience Program for Center for Discovery. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Following this, Angela furthered her education, receiving her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Argosy University in Arlington, VA and then went on to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia.
Throughout her journey, Angela has dedicated herself to working with children, adolescents, and their families with mental health and co-occurring disorders in a variety of community settings. Prior to Center for Discovery, Angela has gained experience working in the in-home setting, therapeutic day treatment, foster care setting, outpatient, and judicial setting with court-involved youth. In addition, Angela has built various professional relationships within the Northern Virginia area. Angela is passionate about working with diverse populations and building a strong therapeutic rapport and alliance with clients and all that are involved. Angela is well-versed in cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, solution-focused, and play therapy and has experience working with a broad range of issues to include crisis intervention, PTSD, grief and loss, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance use, and family intervention. Angela is passionate about the works she does and enjoys watching seeds which are planted grow. In her spare time, Angela enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, cleaning, and traveling.
