Partial Hospitalization Treatment Programs

What is Partial Hospitalization Treatment?

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) falls on the continuum of mental healthcare between residential treatment and intensive outpatient or outpatient treatment. Partial Hospital Programs typically include individual, family, and group counseling and medication management.

The main difference between PHP and residential treatment is individuals do not live in the treatment centers, but rather attend program during the day and return home after as they no longer require 24hr supervision. This allows clients to receive much of the same structure as residential care during the day as well as the opportunity to begin practicing their skills as they transition to life outside the treatment program.

All of our day programs—partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient—take place in separate facilities from our residential facilities. We offer partial hospitalization treatment in many locations throughout the country.

What can I Expect in Partial Hospitalization Treatment?

A typical treatment team includes a therapist and psychiatrist. Our Partial Hospital Programs operates five days a week, six hours per day. Frequency of visits depends on the individual’s needs. Once the treatment team has determined an individual is ready to transition to the next level of care the recommendation is typically to step down to Intensive Outpatient treatment.
